The most prominent provider for aviation related accessories in Germany opened its head office 1999 at Egelsbach Airfield. The Eisenschmidt bookshop was already founded in 1880 in Berlin by Rudolf Eisenschmidt.
Since 1961 Eisenschmidt has
been the sales departement for the German air traffic control. The
German Aeronautical Information Publication is provided by Eisenschmidt
worldwide for all airports where fligts to Germany depart. VFR approach
charts for Germany are also supplied to all private pilots in Germany
and Europe.The Eisenschmidt company also delivers all the publications of the Bureau for Notice to Airmen worldwide as well as all German and foreign aviation maps (e.g. in 1999 more than 200.000 maps have been delivered)
Besides pilots find an extensive assortment of accessories required for flying. Any flight enthusiast can search through a wide range of video tapes, non-fiction books and pc software on the subject. Sales of the complete aviation literature and other current titles are also handled by Eisenschmidt.
