HFG reconstruct apron
Old airport apron pavement in bad condition
Managing Director Siegmar Weegen informs, that the reconstruction of the apron at Egelsbach Airport hast started in mid August, as planned.
The reconstruction was essential, as some of the asphalt dates from the fifties and sixties, and is therefore in a very bad condition. We are talking about an area of 10.000 square meters.
The public work will take between 5 and 7 weeks. Some parts, located in the security area of taxiways, will be worked on at nights, this will be the case two or three times.
Mr Weegen reports, that the design engineering started already in April, and in May the measuring of the area took place. It was also necessary to check the condition via camera of several drainage canals, as well as taking samples of ground and asphalt. Even checking for explosive ordnance took place.
HFG invests a 7-digit amount into that apron repair.
Mr Weegen announces that we are happy to have been able to give the contract, to a company in our community.
